How we move your money

ReviveCart is an agentic commerce operating system that runs a merchant's storefront, checkout, and customer operations on autopilot. We are not a bank, and we are not a licensed money transmitter. We do not hold merchant funds ourselves, and at no point do customer payments sit in an account controlled by ReviveCart.

The actual movement of money, underwriting of each merchant, and compliance with card network rules (including PCI DSS) are handled by our payment processing partner, a licensed third-party payment processor we integrate with. ReviveCart operates on top of that processor's network: we build the storefront and checkout experience, manage the merchant relationship, and surface transaction and payout data in your console, while our processing partner carries the regulatory and custodial obligations that come with actually touching funds.

This split matters because it defines who you are agreeing with for what. This agreement covers your relationship with ReviveCart as a platform. Separately, your payment processing partner will have you agree to its own terms before you can accept a live payment, and those terms govern the processing relationship itself.

Before a merchant can accept a live payment through ReviveCart, they have to complete identity verification, commonly known as Know Your Customer (KYC) and, for registered businesses, Know Your Business (KYB). This typically means a government-issued ID, business registration details for companies, information about the business's representatives or beneficial owners, and banking information for payouts.

This isn't a ReviveCart preference we could waive. It's required by financial regulation and by our payment processing partner as a condition of moving money on your behalf, and it applies to every merchant on the platform regardless of size.

We collect this information through your onboarding flow, but we don't store the sensitive parts of it on our own servers. Full government ID numbers, bank account numbers, and Social Security or tax ID numbers are transmitted directly to our processing partner for verification, not retained by ReviveCart. On our side, we keep only the last four digits of relevant numbers so our support team can reference an account without exposing the full value. If verification fails or comes back incomplete, we'll let you know what's missing so you can resubmit it.

A single transaction passes through several distinct stages between the moment a customer clicks "pay" and the moment money lands in a merchant's bank account. Each stage below is handled by a different party in the chain, and understanding the sequence helps explain the timing questions merchants ask most.

1. Customer completes checkout

   A shopper finishes checkout on a merchant's storefront, entering card details into a payment form we never see in plain text. Those details are tokenized and passed directly to our payment processing partner, not to ReviveCart's servers.

2. Card authorization runs through the card networks

   Our payment processing partner submits the transaction to the relevant card network for authorization, checking funds availability and fraud signals in real time. Authorization typically completes in a second or two, and the order is confirmed once it clears.

3. Funds settle to the merchant's connected account

   Once the transaction settles, the payment amount is credited to the merchant's connected account, net of ReviveCart's platform fee and any card network interchange fees. Merchants can see this breakdown per transaction in their console.

4. Funds pass a brief holding period

   Settled funds sit in a short holding period before becoming eligible for payout. This is standard practice for new accounts and for transactions flagged during routine risk review, and it shortens as an account builds a processing history.

5. Payout reaches the merchant's bank account

   Once funds clear the holding period, they are paid out to the merchant's linked bank account on the schedule the merchant selected (daily, weekly, or monthly). Payout timing can still vary slightly by bank and by country.

ReviveCart charges a platform fee on each transaction processed through the platform: a percentage of the transaction amount plus a fixed per-transaction fee. The exact rate depends on your plan and is disclosed to you at signup and shown per transaction in your merchant console, so you always know what was deducted and why.

That platform fee is separate from card network interchange fees, which are set by the card networks themselves (Visa, Mastercard, and others), not by ReviveCart or our processing partner. Interchange varies by card type, region, and transaction method, and it's passed through as part of the cost of accepting that card. Some merchants may also see currency conversion fees when a customer pays in a currency different from the merchant's settlement currency, which are likewise set by the processor and networks rather than by ReviveCart.

We don't mark up interchange or currency conversion fees. Our fee is the platform fee alone, and it's the only line item ReviveCart controls directly.

Beyond the standard holding period described above, our payment processing partner can place an additional hold on funds or apply a rolling reserve, meaning a percentage of each settlement is held back for a period rather than paid out immediately. This is normal risk management, not a penalty, and it can be triggered by a few different things: a merchant's dispute or chargeback rate rising above typical levels, a sudden change in transaction volume or average order value that looks unusual against a merchant's history, or a risk rule maintained by our processing partner that applies across their entire network.

When a hold or reserve is applied, we'll surface it in your console along with the reason where we're able to share one. Some risk decisions are made by our processing partner directly and we relay them to you rather than originate them ourselves. Reserves are released on a schedule tied to the underlying risk, most commonly as a merchant's dispute rate normalizes or a defined holding window elapses.

When a customer disputes a charge with their card issuer, that chargeback is the responsibility of the merchant whose transaction it relates to, not ReviveCart. The disputed amount, along with any chargeback fee assessed by the card network or our processing partner, is deducted from that merchant's account.

ReviveCart helps merchants respond to disputes: we surface chargeback notifications in your console, help you assemble the documentation a dispute needs (order records, delivery confirmation, communication history), and route that evidence back through our processing partner to the card network on your behalf. What we don't do is indemnify merchants against chargeback losses. If a dispute is decided against the merchant, the loss sits with the merchant, and ReviveCart does not absorb it or guarantee a particular outcome.

Merchants with chargeback rates that climb above the thresholds set by card networks or our processing partner may see additional reserves, holds, or account review as a result, separate from the chargeback itself.

ReviveCart cannot process payments for businesses that fall on our payment processing partner's restricted or prohibited business list. That list generally covers things like illegal goods and services, certain regulated products (some categories of adult content, weapons, or pharmaceuticals, for example), and businesses in industries the card networks or our processor decline to support. It can change over time as card network and regulatory policy changes, and we'll flag it during onboarding if a business doesn't qualify.

Merchants are expected to accurately represent what they sell, both during onboarding and on an ongoing basis. If a merchant's actual business activity turns out to differ materially from what was represented at signup, whether the change is deliberate or the business simply evolved without an update, that's grounds for suspending the account while it's reviewed. We'd rather work through a mismatch with a merchant directly than discover it through a processor escalation, so merchants who aren't sure whether a product line qualifies should reach out before launching it.

ReviveCart supports merchants selling internationally, but settlement is limited to the countries and regions our payment processing partner supports directly. A merchant based in, or selling into, a country outside that footprint may not be able to onboard, or may have certain payout methods unavailable to them.

For merchants who are supported, payout currency, minimum payout thresholds, and payout timing can all vary by country, since they depend on local banking rails and the processor's arrangements in that market rather than on anything ReviveCart configures directly. We surface the specifics that apply to a given merchant's country during onboarding and in the payout settings of the console, and we recommend merchants expanding into a new market confirm support before relying on it for a launch.

We can suspend or terminate a merchant's ability to process payments through ReviveCart for a defined set of reasons: confirmed or suspected fraud, chargeback or dispute rates that exceed the thresholds set by card networks or our processing partner, operating a restricted or misrepresented business, or a match against sanctions or watch lists that our processing partner is legally required to screen for.

Where the law and our processor's rules allow it, we'll give notice before suspending an account and explain what triggered the review, so a merchant has a chance to respond or correct the issue. Some situations don't allow for that: a sanctions match or a processor-mandated action, for instance, can require immediate suspension with notice following afterward rather than in advance. In either case, funds already held or subject to reserve are handled according to the holds and reserves terms above, not released automatically on suspension.

We may update this agreement from time to time to reflect changes in our payment processing partner's requirements, card network rules, applicable law, or how ReviveCart itself operates. When a change is material, we'll notify merchants by email or through the console before it takes effect, with enough notice to review it.

Continuing to accept payments through ReviveCart after a material change takes effect means the updated agreement applies to your account. If a change to processing terms affects you in a way you're not comfortable with, you can reach out to discuss it or discontinue processing before the change takes effect.

This document was drafted to reflect ReviveCart's actual operating model: what we do directly, what our payment processing partner handles, and how money actually moves from a customer to a merchant. It should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before being treated as a final, binding merchant agreement. That review is a standard and expected step for a document like this, not a sign that anything here is provisional or unreliable.
